Specialty coffees

The history of Octavio specialty coffees goes back to the 1940s when Octavio Quércia’s dream was to produce high quality coffee at his Igaçaba property in the Alta Mogiana region. Before that, Giuseppe and Vicente Quércia, Octavio’s grandfather and father, who came to Brazil from Italy in 1890, had cultivated a small coffee plantation in the region of Brodowski in the early years of the 20th century.

Octavio specialty coffee blends are grown at the property of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, located in a high altitude region with a favorable climate, which has traditionally produced the best coffees. Vale Octavio is in the municipality of Pedregulho, Alta Mogiana. The property covers three million hectares and there are five million coffee plants. An average 90% of its annual production of 40,000 bags is exported.

Octavio specialty coffees meet the strict standards of quality and sustainability required by the Alta Mogiana Specialty Coffees association (AMSC) and has earned international certification for socio-environmental responsibility from the Rainforest Alliance and Utz Kapech.
